Alike Detwiler and John Hunsperger and with their families have crept in with Esq. Beerbower. Hunsperger was over some time before his family it was said that he dare not show his face on the other side for fear of limbo. It is also said that the both are bound for Iowa in the spring in company with a few other of the [illegible]. Next Friday the 21st inst. is our election day for township officers. Peter Grubb is out hot for Supervisor [illegible]. People in general here are very anxious to know whether it was so cold in Iowa this winter as it was here because it was colder in old [Penn.?] than ever known, or rather the cold continued without intermission for many weeks. We have had but one little rain thus far this winter and that was in the beginning of winter, in all probability there will be very little ploughing here in March. -- We are already accustoming ourselves to a pioneers life our furniture is most sold and the little we have is sold to go away the beginning of April, our beds are all on the floor. Every thing else in the same ratio [illegible]. The time is drawing on fast when we look anxiously ahead to see you again and try the realities of a western life. As regards any introductions to you I think I have told you all I have to say in my former letters. We are grateful to an all over [illegible] Providence for the health we enjoy, and hope and trust he will bring us safely to the place of our destination. I must close -- Truly your parents P.
