exactly fitted to the edges of the vessel in order to exclude as much air as possible -- When quite full the Cask is to be covered in like manner, and a little melted Butter put round the Edges to fill up every Cranny prepared in this manner Butter will keep many years - at least it kept 2 years as good as if only a Month Old - Brine on the surface may be useful to prevent its turning rancid while using Pancakes Take the yolks of 6 Eggs mix them with 2 Spoonfuls of flour - beat Cinnamon the rind of a Lemon a little milk or cream take the Whites of the Eggs and beat them to a froth with a knife and when you are ready to make the pancakes mix them altogether - when fried throw some Sugar over them ---- To preserve green Pease - Let the Pease be pulled very dry and after they are Shelled be rubbed with a Cloth put about a tumbler of salt to as many Pease as will fill a Bottle after they are well mixed pour them into a Bottle which must be well shook. boil the Bottle in water and let it rest for the space of 2 or 3 Months
