178 [crossed out] Ginger Drops 8 Ounces of Ging[end crossed out section] Recepe for Sore Throat - 6 ounces of fresh butter eight ounces of Mosin - 8 Ounces of Mosin - 8 Ounces of Mutton Suet melted 3 Ounces of Bees Wax - Boil these ingredients over a fire till they are well incorporated, skim and pour it into pots for use - when it is to be used spread it upon a piece of fine linen Cloth - The breadth of 3 fingers and long enough to reach from ear to ear renew? it every six hours - and every four if the throat is very bad - Recipe for an ulcerated Sore Throat A Quarter of a pound of Mutton Suet 1 [chine?] from the Kidney 3 Ounces of unwashed Butter 4 Ounces of [Rosin?] powder - one Ounce and half of Bees Wax sliced - Melt the Suet strain it then put it to the Butter and Melt it over a gentle fire. When melted add to it the Rosin and Bees Wax - Stirring it till the whole is dissolved then put it in a Jar, Stirring it till it is [mainly?] cold - It will keep good a year or two - when you use it spread a thin Coat of it without [illegible] on a linen Cloth about 3 or 4 Inches broad - and long enough to reach completely round the Throat. Apply it tight to the Throat with flannel on the outside
