10 William [Shufdham's?] direction how to prepare for eating salt butter just as N. Zealand in jars, & covered with a strong pickle.. I would recommend when a jar is taken out for use, about the thicknefs of a half crown to be scraped off the top of the butter; & that protion taken out each time for use to be washed in milk & water, or if no milk is to be had, in two waters, which operation will take the salt out & make it better."------- [illegible]. Do. Bright- Flour - three pounds- [line illegible] mix well together. Water a pint and half [line illegible] mix well with the flour.,
