Omaha October 12th 1863 T.C. Durant Esq Dear Sir Your Telegraphs & letters are duly received - I have two parties at work in Nebraska - and will have those Lines run in the course of the next thirty days if not sooner - I can not send any one to do that work at the Cheyenne and Bridger Passes and will go myself - I am disapointed at not finding an order on the commandant of Fort Halleck as I requested in my letter but think I can obtain the order from the commanding Officer of the Idaho District - Julesburgh is nearly four Hundred miles from the Bridger Pass - and it would be the extreme of folly to outfit a train at this late Period in the year from that point. I will get the levels through those passes before I return. I have choked off the Omaha blowers and think you will hear no more from them - I shall draw on Mr Henry for $2.500 - but will Telegraph him first - shall go by stage - Respectfully Yours Peter A. Dey
