Omaha October 19th 1863 T.C. Durant Esq Dear Sir Dr. Monell of this territory will be present at the meeting of Stockholders on the 29th and will have proxies to vote on the stock subscribed in Nebraska - He is making an effort to be appointed government Director and has letters to the President from Mr Ogden & Mr Farnam. In case he fails I apprehend he will make an effort to get the place of a Director from the Stockholders and being somewhat shrewd he may accomplish something if you are not on your guard. There is a gentleman here a Mr Augustus Kountz who subscribed the principal part of the local subscription here, probably the heaviest capitalist in the territory, who would make a
