Omaha Dec 8th 1863 T.C. Durant Esq Dear SIr I have just telegraphed asking you to have the Office of the Omaha Land District closed, they are entering lands up the Platte valley very fast and it is important that our selections should be made before all of it is taken - I should have attended to this before but have been so much occupied in getting or rather forcing those donations of land that I overlooked it - I think I can give you the results tomorrow - If you will look on the Map of the City of Omaha you will find a reserve along the River marked Levee and some blocks marked S. [N?.] O. & P. these the City has given us along the entire front reserving the Right of Crossing to the Steamboat and ferry Landing only -
