between this reservation and the table on which the town is located on some two Hundred acres of land that in extreme floods have had about two feet of water on them and consequently are of no value for town purposes - a large proportion of this I can get donated to the company - the balance - owned by non residents can be obtained I think by a small outlay now - In case we run out either North or South of the capitol this land will eventually become very valuable. I have surveyed the route through Florence but find the elevation so great and the country so rough that no line can be found there that would meet your ideas of cost on any grades - there is another difficulty and that is the titles to that land which are now on the eve of litigation that will last for some years.
