Omaha December 17th 63 T.C. Durant Esq Dear Sir On my return to this place the first of this month I found the conviction that the road would be located at this place from assurances telegraphed from New York from various parties that had seen you, that it was impossible to carry out the program you marked out in New York - I was obliged to wait until after the opening which we ventillated to the utmost, before I began - You are aware of the means we used to bring around this matter - We have given to you for use about six thousand acres of land mostly in this county about five Hundred within two miles of the City plot and have secured to the company the entire River front of about a mile and one half in length and about two thirds of the bottom between
