Omaha Nebraska April 4th 1864 T.C. Durant Esq Dear Sir I wrote you with Estimates of Expenditures last week and intended doing so more fully the next day - The Parties appointed are beginning to report Messrs Reed and Evans are here and some Assistants possibly enough to fill three parties. There seems to be some discrepancy between Mr Reeds & Evans instructions - I would put Evans to run the Line from the Eastern base of the Black Hills to Green River and Reed from Green River to Salt Lake - I have not Telegraphed Brigham Young as yet supposing that General Dix had done so in making the appointments of Young & Fox - The weather is nearly if not quite settled and it is important if the Road is opened this fall that the balance should be put under contract.
