will carry about twelve feet of earth the double about twenty two. the cost will be respectively from one to two hundred Dollars - this grading is generally of good material except sections one and two Williams work which have thus far proved very hard - have sunk test pits on balance of work and find the material good - portions of Williams work has proved very hard so much so that on the first of this month he threw up the job - giving as a reason his inabililty to raise funds to prosecute it any longer - as his force was good and in pretty fair shape I proposed to him to keep the work going this month and pay the bills for labor & teams until such time as you should determine what course to purse under this arrangement we have kept the men at work, My opinion is that we had better forfeit the contract and let
