Chicago and Rock Island Railroad Company, President's Office, Chicago, October 26th, 1855 T.C. Durant Esq Dear Sir Mr Pack owner of the Barque Norman that cleared Buffalo with Iron November 28th 1854 for M & M. Road has called several times for the amount of a Bill of general average that he states that he handed you in June last when you were here. He says that you told him that you were going to Buffalo and would investigate and arrange it. Please inform us what was done with it, and whether it should be paid. Respectfully Yours, Peter A. Dey
