Durant Esq Dear Sir, Yours of -- found me confined to my room by a severe attack of influenza and fever I have not been out of my room for the week past nor shall I probably be able to leave it for four or five days to come. There are various opinions about the fate of the Pacific Rail Road bill Many of its friends are more sanguine than ever. My own opinion is that nothing will be done. I must leave for home just as soon as it shall be prudent for me to travel. I hope to be able to write you in two or three days and give you an idea about my discoveries at the General Land office.
