Washington D.C Feby 1st (57 [1857?] T.C. Durant Esq Dear Sir I leave in the morning for home via [Whuting?] -- Henn Will be up to New York during the week + will [port?] you -- I am not with out hope that something important may yet transpire here for our interest -- Ashman is very industrious + will look close to our interest in every thing -- If he telegraphed to you to come on here any time before Congress adjourned, don't fail to come -- We will not hinder you long
