Albany July 15th 1853 Dear Brother In yours of the 13th you say that Farnham is authorized to sign the contract for the building of the Peoria & Beauro vally R R? I suppose by that the thing is decided and you know what you are to get [illegible]. I suppose by what you said when here you do not want me known as any ways interested in the contract. If you do however I am ready to join heart & hand & you can fix it to suit yourself. Please let me know your [views?] [illegible] about it also the outline of your contract, that is what you are to get & what kind of pay, the distance & whether you do any thing more than to grade & lay the track. Uncle seems anxious to know something more about it also. I suppose we shall have to raise between us considerable money by & by. And we must arrange ahead for it so as not to be disappointed. Should it come a tight time in the money market have you or do you want to make any arrangement at present or do you want I should try by & by and make any. please let me know. I have several plans for raising the money which will tell you when I see you, will you be up before long or I will come down if necessary with particularly what you expect & what you want Yours CW Durant
