Albany July 16th 1833 Dear Brother, Since writing you yesterday, Uncle Clark has expressed his views in regards the contract for building the Bureau Valley R.R which I will give you by his request or consent. He says the firm better not take it as if they did he would have to raise funds for them, and if there was any money to be made by if he wanted 1/3 of it. He says let the contract stand in your own name as it is and he will take 1/3. yourself 1/3 and I take 1/3 let it be profit or loss If this meets your views he says you can let us know and execute to us some writing to that effect. This to you & me is the same as if the firm had it and if there should be any money made by it Uncle is certainly entitled to a portion of it as we of course would look to him to raise the funds Please let me hear from you on this subject at once, and as I wrote you yesterday would like to know the particulars of the contract &c Yours affectionately CW Durant
