Albany March 21st 1855 T.C. Durant Esqr. Sir Enclosed I return the note sent to Pittsfield for several reasons I think I shall not go to New York untill some time next week. I hope you will press the settlement of our [job?] bills against the [Line?] [illegible] & also Cleveland & Toledo Roads. try for the Illinois Central Iron. There will probably be but little more done in way of buying produce at Chicago unless we buy from [illegible] [hands?] on or about the opening. Prices may be so it will [answer?]. I think that most of the information we have had from them as regards the quantity of produce has been guessed at. Lathrop has all the while written that there was not corn enough coming in Chicago to supply [distillers?]. Fink writes there is now 300.000 Bu. in store 100.000 oats and nearly 400.000 wheat I will send you Dft for Peoria stock tomorrow CW Durant If I go to Chicago it will not be untill after 12th of April
