no sale for corn today Albany May 2d 1855 Dear Brother, It was necessary for me to be at home or I should not have left without seeing you besides my wife was quite unwell when I left home & I had not heard from her she had a very bad sick turn the day before I got home, but is better, I was thinking strongly of going to NY again this evening when I recd. your letter as I had concluded not to go to Chicago before Saturday or Sunday Buffalo harbor & the straits not yet being open that we know of, telegraph if you want me & I can be to hand in a very short time I wish you would ask Farnam what 500 pounds car wheel is worth a first rate article [of?] good kind, If a larger lot of 2 or 3.000 could be bought in long time would it not be of some advantage if the contract should be taken for building the road say time equal to 15 or 18 mo. then is such a lot for sale I am not sure but equally a long time could be had in some cars let me hear from you CW Durant
