Albany July 31st 1855 T.C. Durant Esqr Dear Sir I have been unable as yet to see anything about car wheels or axels not finding Mr Mallory. I think I will go to Troy tomorrow & see if I can find him. If your proposition is to pay 1/2 in cash to Townsend we want now to see if we cannot purchase car wheels & pay in stock & furnish them to Townsend as the cash portion of the contract in this way it would be the same as paying all in stock. it is of vast importance that it should be done if we can & if one wont do it we must try another concern Cant you in some way get the names & places of residences of the different car & car wheel manufactories through this & the Eastern & Western states, & get up a plan of such cars as is wanted & then employ your good man to negotiate & pay him a commission - it seems to me that this whole thing could be done & pay nearly or quite all
