Albany Feby 18th 1856 T.C Durant Esqr Sir Unless Mr Farnam is to be down soon you better write him and get the size of hole and lenght of hub that Mallory & Co will want in order to make the car wheels. that is all they require except the size of the wheel. We will have to decide upon something ere long. I hope you will do all you can to buy the [Iron?] for the 211 miles & pay in the bonds of that section of the Road. I believe you can do it through some broker in N.Y. dont you hear anything from Sargent or the west - Yours &c C.W. Durant P.S. I do think some of the M & M Company should spend some time & try and get the Land Bill through this winter. It will never be done unless this winter and that would insure the Road to Councill Bluffs in 5 years C
