Albany April 4th 1856 T.C Durant Esqr Sir Edgar Sleight called here today and said his brother would take Barge [Fisk?] for 2500 Dolls paymts as follows 500 Dolls cash and 100 Dolls per month until paid Security on the boat & boat insured for our benefit he to give his notes for monthly payments with Int added same as they did for the Amity & Jones. It is rather a long time to pay it but the security will be [growing?] better and I think they would meet it besides it is a fair price for this Boat I told him you would let hm know on Monday or Tuesday next at which time one of them will call [Answer?] by return mail if you think best to sell on above terms and if you do I will send the [Enrolment?] down for Mr Jones to make out the papers as before. I am [to join?] him [illegible] I had [engaged?]
