Mess. Durant Lathrop & Co. Gentlemen - As I am closing up business with reference to going upon the Bench, I herewith send my bill - I believe the credits are correct. if not your receipts will show. The papers upon the motion to change the venue were voluminous. We were obliged you will remember to send to Albany &c for affidavits &c - The case is a very voluminous one. The testimony taken at Elmira by others in the hurry of trial, made a very careful revision of it necessary - especially as not having been present - I could not bring recollection to my aid - The amendments proposed by Sanford were very numerous, involving sometimes a total departure from our version and sometimes a change in the form of expression
