Trement House Chicago Jany 20th/68 H.C. Crane Esq Dear Sir I have just heard from Mr. Sprauge and he says that the timber will not warrant such a Mill as the Doct wants put up: Davis bought the best Mills at Omaha [of?] the Co to be used by [illegible] Sprauge & Co and will be used for sawing what timber there is in the two [Canons?] that Sprauge has reserved for that purpose: as soon as the weather will permit I shall go out: I have stoped work at the mines and as soon as I ascertain [amt?] of Bills I shall draw on you for funds, I shall be in New York first of next month Yours Truly W.F.
