Hazard or Durant Dear Sir, The simplest way to tide over the difficulty (so far as I can see) about the books is to have the copies sent to Providence by Express to the office of James Tillinghast Esq. and produce the copyists themselves before him to testify to their being copies:-- in the case of Wm. C. Lindsay, his evidence can be taken in Chicago by deposition in which he can swear that he made copies of the original books, or of parts of them, that the copies he made are
