now possible for him to comply with the orders of Court for breach of which he is in contempt. 4 Then I expect to maintain this proposition, that while the court may refuse absolutely to purge the contempt, they will not refuse to allow the defendants to answer & defend the case. 5 on Saturday I can [obtain?] leave to file such a motion. 6 It will take some time and much labor properly to prepare it. 7. The defendant Durant or whosoever may be interested, must give some personal attention to the case - if they do not care about the case let them abandon it, and relieve us from any further care about it. 8 If they propose to work us in this case they should furnish some material aid, enough at all events to pay expenses including [illegible] and printing.
