Int. No. 40 Do the books of the Company show those payments? Ans. No. 40 I think not. i dont remember anything about that: I had accounts of them, but what becmae of them I dont know. Int. No. 41 Did the Pennsylvania Fiscal Agency keep books from teh times of its organization? Ans. No. 41 That I can hardly tell you, whatever we had I think we handed over to the New York gentleman, I have not anything. Int. No. 42 You were Secretary of the Company? Ans. No. 42 Yes, Sir. Int. No. 43 From the date of its organization? Ans. No. 43 Yes Sir. I think so. Int. No. 44 And up to the time it became, the Credit [Mobilier?]? Ans. No. 44 Yes Sir. and afterwards I was Assistant Secretary. Int. No. 45 Did you keep the minutes of the meetings? Ans. No. 45 Yes Sir. Int. No. 46 And all the bookes that were kept? Ans. No. 46 No, Sir. I did not keep all the books that were kept. I think Mr. Charles M. Hall kept an account book. I am not certain whether he did, or not, but my impression is he did.
