To reduce the par value of the shares from 1000 dollars a share to one hundred dollars.
To enable the Company to [C?] land for right of way, or attain the same through proceedings in or through the Courts which was not in the original bill and several other amendments which were once considered very important at the time and in fact vital to the success of the Road, of which I don't recollect the details.
400 - Q. Cannot you recollect any of these vital amendments?
A. Well it is pretty difficult to recollect all the amendments {Witness examines the Charter}  they had the 25 per cent, the clause by which the Government were to retain 25 per cent of the article [illegible]
