Int. No. 23 What was the date of the transaction in regard to the Gesner drafts, concerning which you have testified? Ans. No. 23 I cannot tell you; you have got it there in the books; I cannot recollect the dates; only one transaction there was the matter of Gesner. Int. No 24 How many of these drafts were there? Ans No. 24 I don't recollect. Int No. 25 Did the drafts come to you? Ans. No. 25 They came to the office; they were presented for payment while I was assistant Secretary, Mr Tuttle was assistant Treasurer and Mr John J. Cisco was was the Treasurer, and while Mr. Crisco was not there all the time, what drafts were brought in, if he was not there, and I was in the office, were naturally handed to me. Int. No. 26 Were they handed to you? Ans. No. 26 Yes, sir; I took them and drew up the checks and got them signed; it was a regular business transaction. Int. No. 27 You got the checks? Ans. No.27 I had to take the check to Mr.
