Iowa CIty, Iowa. Oct 1865 Sister Ellen: I have just finished reading your letter for nearly the twenteth time and I will read it until I receive another in from you; you cannot imagine how welcome is a letter from home, until you have had some experience. I am very sorry to hear that the dysentery and ague are so prevalent. Nathan should be very careful of himself because the effects of his southern trip will manifest themselves whenever he overtasks his system by labor. William did well when he hired that man for to help. Does he seem to be a pretty good hand? When I am strolling along the streets for exercise on Friday afternoons and Saturdays, O how much sooner would I help at making molasses or husking corn. Sister, you speak of going to the school on Coon, if it is a good school do not
