When the teacher knows that a scholar is in the habit of having poor lessons, he is invariably called upon to open the recitations, and if he does not proceed is ordered to sit down. The arithmetie to which I belong has been changed from 10 oclock to 12 O'clock so now I do not get home till after 1 O'clock Our teacher is a New Yorker, just ordained for teaching. She is good specimen for a teacher, her lips have two long pieces of sticking plaster upon them. Hair is prettily tinged with a glossy red color. her eyes are always nearly shut when they are not closed entirely. Well I think the class will like her very well after she becomes more acquainted with their names, &e, I progress very well with my Latin lessons, my little proactice of writing it at home is a wonderful help to me now. My Aritmetie lessons are very difficult for every rule must be given correctlu
