Father and Mother would often sit in the evenings in the winter time talking about old times when they started keeping house. They went to Grandfather's & Mother's home to take care of them in their home as Grandmother was not very well, he was a very [thorough] and [straight] man beleiving in the good old golden rule. He died by a stroke of apoplexy not sick any time, on the day before his stroke he went to a home of a friend. Getting up that morning to go to the kitchen where he often built the fire for Father. Father and Mother heard some noise Father came down to find his his Father helpless on the floor dying. Not very long after he departed this life on May 8th 1833. Peter Mowrer and Esther Grubb were married March 30 1786.
