Grandmother Miller - Mother's [Grumbling?] Grandmother Miller Father - [Sowers?] Borough of York Pa. 50 buildings in 1751 3 churches, 2 German Lutheran " " Reformed, Sept 1787 - Borough of York erected. First Burgess. Henry Miller Esq. David [Cantler?] Hay's addition in 1814. First Company in Revol war, from Pa. more riflemen from town of York, in July 1775 York Co. sent out more soldiers during revol. than any one of neighboring sisters. A Lutheran congregation formed in Codorus Valley. 133 emigrants from [Westernburg?] Gen Henry Miller born New Lancaster 1751. Studied Law - [illegible] in Rev. marched to [Braton?] - Engaged in most of battles in Middle States at Battle of Monmouth two horses were shot under him. he mounted third and was in thickest of fight. Gen Was. appointed him Inspector of a district of Pa. while excise of law was in force. He afterwards was merchant in Baltimore. During last war fought in defense of Ft Henry. Afterwards removed to Perry Co. eventually to Carlisle where he died April 1824. I think they moved to Indiana Co Pen a small town calld Brush Valley. A.A.M 1949)
