I was at the annual concert and Festival of the Union Mechanics, I enjoyed myself. Refreshments, such as Cakes ice cream, candy &c was brought and distributed to the people; they we had splendid singing and performances, the people dispersed at twelve O clock, this was rather late for a decent crowd, Harris is one of the members, he presented me with a ticket Well, sister, I have been around more this month to church, and over the town than I expect all summers when that old Prof-gets a hold upon me. He forbid me to study any this month, for sad he, "you look as if little rest would do you good" It is seven studies, and an examination upon eacl one every day, except Thursday when there are two. I was mistaken when I said the books could be bought cheap, these old kind of books they will examine upon. Some of the books is twelve dollars (The U.S. Dispensary) Surgery, nine, Anatomy five, practice, six, so it goes through
