August 10th,1868 [Illegible] 15th St. Phili My Dear Sister your letter was received this morning was indeed pleased to hear from you and that you were in good health. My health is very good with the exception of diarrhea which weakens me a great deal= you should certainly get the letter I sent last week [Illegible] brief= it is quite cool feeling but has been for several days the nights remind ones of the chilly evenings of Sept., hope there will be no frost yet for a while- the fruit is coming in market very fast- peaches, apples, ect, yet I've not tasted either. Ellie Harris has been very sick since Sunday much better today. Cause fall and summer [Illegible] some of the neighbors thought she will not possibly make it.
