May, Monday 24. 1880. Started for Vt in Eve with Belle and Gracie Cragin Tuesday 25. very hot uncomfortable night came into Chicago Early in morn and left by Mich. central terrible hot - reached Detroit in eve for Rochester Wednesday 26. Rochester took Drawing room car for [Skenectady?] where we stopped only long enough to change cars - At Saratoy waited three hours - came to Rutland about 9 o'clock in Evening went to Bardwell house for the night
