But my darling Ellie you can't immagine how anxious I was to make my westward [illegible] today. Was very much disapointed one week ago today on account of the weather. I was making big calculations all last week to be over in the grove today. And such a pleasant time you & I would have. if not it would be the first time that we did not enjoy eachothers company. Wouldn't it? But I am glad their is still one other way left for me to have my thoughts carried to you which is in the way I am now occupied in. Just think if we were seperated for several hundred miles by writing to each other, we would keep a continual love for eachother. But yet I would [illegible] seeing your noble & inteligent [countanence?], & hear your lovely voice, & also be close by your
