My home in [Peopler Tp Boone C. Town?] May, 6th, 1877 My [dearest?] & ever remembered Ellie, Your little letter written the 22nd [illegible], was only received last Friday evening, [thirs?] has been none of me to town for more than two weeks, and none of the settlements i know of, so that we could send for our mail. I did send with a [herman?] living south of us last week, but hee forgot to bring it. I written you a short or a little letter on the same day. I suppose you got yours long before I did mine. I was expecting to be over to your home today, but the weather forbid my [slanting?] out. You can't imagine how anxious I am to get over there
