Friend Ellie that sent it to the one that is trying to pen those lines. Again I say the letter might have been sent to some other one more worthy of receiving such a letter. And yet I don't think it could have been more gladly recived by any other one; or more appreciated. I can scarcely express what deep respect I have for You Ellie. I [much confess?] I have not been as constant in my [affectione?] toward you, as I should have been. Hope & expect to do better in the future. Allow me to say that last Winter, & part of this last Summer, were the most pleasent day's in the history of my life, while you & I would go to Singing School & church or by the Organ, or any where [text continues on next image scan]
