Chocolate Cake Make white mountain cake#. #See 1st Recipe Take two tablespoon even full of chocolate & disolve in very little water over the fire. add vanilla & stir into the white mont. cake. stir thoroughly. Hartford Cake ( E. [Grandy?] 2/3 cup butter 1 egg Whites of 2 eggs instead of 1 egg makes it white 1 1/2 " sugar 3 " flour 1 " milk 1 " raisins 1 teaspoon lemon 1 " soda 1 " C. Tarter or 2 very large teaspoons Baking P- Put in last 2 teaspoons water or brandy. Half lard for shorting makes nice layer cake
