Raspberry Shrub 1 qt vinegar to 3 qts berries. Put berries & vinegar together & let stand 24 hours, then strain. To 1 pt. juice add 1 lb sugar & boil 1/2 an hour. bottle it when cold. Stewed Pears (No 1) 1 pt. molasses, & 1 pt. water in sauce pan over fire. Take 1 doz. pears, without the blossom, washed, & add them to the sauce pan. Cover & cook till very tender. lay pears in dish, cook syrup five minutes more & pour over pears. serve cold. See No.2
