This winter seems to be quite cold compared with some past winters the coldest was I think, last night it was about twenty seven degrees below zero. It seems very cold but to think of those places where mercury goes down much lower would be much colder. The strike at Angus is still in progress and but little transaction is done there. Those mines outside of the "pool" have a great deal local custom. The rabbits are quite plenty and the boys have caught quite a number this winter. They boys have gone to an oyster supper this evening Ellen and I were invited but concluded best to spend New Years eve at home. Ellen is spending holidays at home she will go back to Jefferson Saturday if it is
