Ive expected every tour we would have to take our Carpets and furniture up and move to the 2nd Story but a kind Providence deemed otherwise, it quit raining and the river fell. Oh Ellie I cannot tell you how thankful I felt, I suppose you have never experienced being under water, but three years ago the water was in our house about a foot and I never wanted to pass through another such trouble. I suppose Ellie your brother Will is now at home again, he had quite a long visit, did he enjoy himself, he seemed to what little I saw of him, I would have liked to have had him come home with me but he thought he could not wait I am in hopes Ellie the next time he comes in your will come with him and make me a visit, I have not heard from Sallie since I left, I wrote to her but have had no answer, Ellie I send you my Photograph as I promised you, and I hope you will send me yours, I have Williams & Miltons and would like to have yours.
