Saturday Oct 9th Made some floating island this morning. Stayed to Linns to dinner and went down town with Mamma in the afternoon. Mamma got me two pairs of kid gloves and some cloth for my new waist and overskirt. Sunday. Oct 10th Papa, May, Linn and I went riding this afternoon up the Plank road & down by the McKnights springs. It was very cold. We got out near McKnights springs and picked up over a bushel of butternuts, and put them in the bottom of the carriage. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday all together. Linn has had such a bad toothe-ache the last two days that she could not come to school. Annie Scott got
