my deer in with, grass green. I think quite a pretty shade. Spent the afternoon & evening at Laurie's & had a happy time. Ella Peaslee & Lizzie Maclay were there. Good night. Wednesday Apr. 19th. Mamma thinks of having a little party on May's birthday. (next Friday) I have made a list of guests, amounting to about 30. Thursday Apr. 20. I worked & fussed around all morning & in the afternoon we got a horse & carriage from the livery stable & Mamma & I gave the invitations & ordered the ice cream. Papa has hired 4 musicians, a clarionette, a base-viol & 2 fiddes. One of the fiddlers is going to call off to do not think May suspects anything
