Thursday, 8th. Examination in Geography this afternoon. Very hard questions. Our club met at Meg's. We are reading " The Hoozier School master" by E. Eggleston. It a queer thing & rather funny. Friday 9th. We were examined in Arithmetic this afternoon. Grace, Linn Allie & I played croquet after school at the Jacksons. Saturday 10th. Worked & was idle alternately, today. Went with Meg to Carrie Moseis & carried her a boquet late in the afternoon. She was not home & the lady who came to the door told us that they "have no hope for Carrie." It is consumption, slow, but sure.
