Monday, Jan. 15th. Snow! snow! snow! nothing but snow. I like it moderately well. Mr. Irish or rather Prof. (for he deserves the title) spent the whole morning trying to drum cube root into our heads & then dismissed us for the remainder of the day. Tuesday, Jan. 16th. Dismissed this afternoon. Wednesday. Jan. 17th. Cube root. Progression. Dismissed. Thursday, Jan. 18th. Dismissed for the afternoon again. Pretty cold, but splendid sleighing. Friday Jan. 19th. It is getting fearfully near examination & I never disliked studying more. I am afraid that I shall have to take the consequences of going sleigh riding about
