Medicine for destroying worms Extract made from one [scruple] it may administered in the form of a Pill or it any other way. It may be taken three times in a week if necessary. It is said to be a cure both for Tape worm and those little worms called [assenides]. It will be proper to take a dose of Senna or some other Physic to carry off the dead worms. A cure for the tooth ache Take vitriolic ether (none called sulphfuric ether and alum reduced to a very find powder. The ether must be ten times the quantity of the alum. Let lint be dipt in the mixture and applied to the afflicted part. Do it several time. It will seldom or never fail to give ease. Another for the same complaint Take sale vinegar and Brandy of each a tea spoonful. Dip lint into it and convey it into the hollow tooth Another Convey as much quick lime into the decayed part as you can. It is a good remedy. To Make Soda Water Dissolves about one Dram of Carbonate of soda in two ounces of water. Mix about the same quantity of Tartaric Acid in the same quantity in another vessel. Then add the two together and drink it while in a state of effervescence A cure for whites called the Painters Colic Take acid sulphate of alumina and [Potassa] or common alum dissolved in a sufficient quantity of water. The dose is from one to three grains a day. It must be continued for five or six days. A good diet drink to promote health take 32 gallons of water 4 ounces of [hops] of black cherry bark 2 pounds burdock one pound Indian corn roasted very brown Ten ears ginger in powder two ounces Boil it well for half an hour Then Mix it with the liquor a peck and half of Bran Throw all the above roots and things away that is strain off the liquor put it on the Bran and throw away the roots. Then put the drink and Bran into the barrel and when it is nearly cold add two quarts of yest to work it and 4 Table spoon fulls of Molasses Bung it but leave a spigot hole open
