For Bruises Strains and Wounds in Battle Take Hoggs land one pound sweet oil (or of linseed oil) two ounces oil of vitvial one ounce spirits of turpentine two ounces mix all these well together and then add one tablespoon of honey work it well together again if used for a strain let it be rubbed well in [Lfor?] a wound apply it as a plaster And if there is any hole or pipe dip lint into and force it into the place. A very good thing to wash or syringe wounds Take warm water and whiskey of each two table spoonfulls Alum a Dram Spirits of Turpentine a teaspoonfull Oil of vitriol 50 drops and honey two tea spoon-fulls If there is a hole in the wound throw some of it in twice a day with a syringe
