To Cand Oranges or Lemon Peel Lay the peels in salt and water for a fortnight drain them well, then boil them in soft water till quite soft, make a syrup of 1 lb of loaf sugar scald them in it, and let them stand 10 days then boil the syrup again, and skim it well afterwards, boil the peels in it till they look clear Mrs G - To Bottle Green Goosberries Clip off tips and stalks, drop them into clean bottles and fill them up with cold spring water sit them into a boiler of cold water over a slow fire, simmer them gently till they are turning soft, then take them out of the water and let them stand till next day, then put 1 Tea spoonful of salid oil into each bottle and secure them from the air Mrs G -
