Cure for a Cold 1/4 lb of Treacle, 1/4 pint of Vinegar, 100 drops Laudanum. Pickle for Tongues 2 oz Salt-petre, 1/4 lb coarse sugar, 1/4 lb of salt, Take the Tongue, prick it, but do not wash it then put a little salt over it, let it remain 3 or 4 days, then put it in the above pickle warmed. Ham Pickle 1 lb of Salt, 1 lb of coarse sugar, salt-petre as much as you can ly on a sixpence put the pickle on the Ham warm, If it is a small Ham let it remain in pickle 1 Month
